About the Role Join KPMG's State and Local Tax (SALT) practice as a Senior Associate. You will be part of a dynamic team helping high-profile clients understand, analyze, and respond to complex state and local tax opportunities and challenges. The role focuses on state income tax compliance and related issues, leveraging KPMG's Ignition Centers to deliver innovative tax solutions. What You'll Do

  • Support multi-state companies with state and local income tax compliance
  • Help clients with tax issues related to state and local income and franchise taxes
  • Review state income and franchise tax estimated payments, extensions and tax returns
  • Assist in handling notices received from state tax authorities
  • Collaborate with internal specialists and clients to develop compliant, timely tax solutions What We're Looking For
  • Minimum three years of recent experience preparing and/or reviewing state income tax returns and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues
  • Masters degree from an accredited institution preferred; Bachelor's with requisite hours to pursue CPA certification or JD/LLM; CPA certification a plus
  • State income tax return review experience required
  • Ability to foster relationships both internally as well as with clients; excellent writing, compliance, communication, and tax research skills
  • Capability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment Nice to Have
