Job Title: Senior Associate, Business Development (EPC)

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • The Senior Associate, Business Development — EPC will originate and develop business opportunities, manage client relationships, and drive bids and proposals across Propetrol’s EPC portfolio.
  • The successful candidate will independently manage assigned accounts and opportunities, working with technical and commercial teams to translate client requirements into competitive proposals.
  • The role carries clear accountability for pipeline development, opportunity conversion, and contribution to agreed commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue EPC opportunities across oil and gas, marine, industrial infrastructure, and renewable energy markets.

  • Develop account plans and manage assigned opportunities from initial engagement through negotiation, contract award, and handover.

  • Research client investment plans, upcoming projects, market developments, and competitor activities.

  • Build and grow relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and potential project partners.

  • Lead client engagements, capability presentations, and proposal follow-up discussions for assigned accounts.

  • Assess tender opportunities and provide recommendations for bid/no-bid decisions.

  • Coordinate vendor registrations, prequalification submissions, and client procurement portal requirements.

  • Drive proposal preparation with Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams.

  • Ensure bids address client requirements, reflect delivery capabilities, and meet submission deadlines.

  • Support pricing reviews and assess commercial terms, delivery commitments, and potential risks with relevant teams.

  • Support negotiations and resolve commercial clarifications within delegated authority.

  • Identify partnership opportunities that strengthen technical capability and market access.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide pipeline forecasts, bid updates, and performance reports.

  • Contribute to agreed targets for qualified opportunities, contract wins, revenue, and margins.

  • Coordinate the handover of awarded contracts, ensuring scope, obligations, and commercial commitments are clearly documented.

  • Represent Propetrol at industry events and support junior colleagues where required.

  • Conduct all engagements in line with company approval procedures and ethical standards.

  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience in business development, technical sales, tendering, or commercial roles.

  • Relevant experience in EPC, engineering services, oil and gas, infrastructure, or renewable energy.

  • Demonstrated track record of developing qualified opportunities and contributing to successful bids or contract wins.

  • Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycles, tendering processes, and client procurement requirements.

  • Experience managing client relationships and coordinating technical and commercial proposals.

  • Ability to assess commercial opportunities and communicate the value of technical solutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.

  • An established industry network and relevant professional certification are advantages.

Salary

N1,000,000 - N1,500,000 monthly.
