Job title: Senior Architectural Designer: PK-12 Studio
About the Role Join Harriman's PK-12 studio as a Senior Architectural Designer to contribute to design solutions for educational facilities within a collaborative, hybrid work setting. You will work on major projects, applying advanced architectural concepts and guiding project delivery in partnership with licensed architects.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions meeting the client’s needs.
- Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, designing, and coordinating of large, complex projects.
- Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs; carry out complex or novel assignments requiring developing new or improved techniques.
- May provide technical guidance to less experienced architects/architectural staff.
- Perform work as an unlicensed designer competent in all conventional aspects of architecture, with independent judgment; all work reviewed by supervising licensed architect.
- Demonstrate ability to solve problems independently; work reviewed by licensed architect for guidance.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ Minimum Years of Experience as an architectural designer
- 2-year Professional Degree in Architecture (or related field) from an accredited College or University
- Knowledge of building construction details and materials
- Demonstrated skills in English for both oral and written communications
- Skill and Experience with all aspects of project delivery: conceptual design, programming, schematic design, design development, construction document production, consultant coordination, client interaction, construction administration
- Working knowledge of building, accessibility, and life safety codes
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- LEED Accredited Professional (AP) is desired
- Software Proficiencies: Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, Newforma Project Center, Procore, Deltek Vision, Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom/Teams, Video Conferencing Software
