About this role
Job Description
Who You’ll Work With
As a modern technology company, our Slalom Technologists are disrupting the market and bringing to life the art of the possible for our clients. We have passion for building strategies, solutions, and creative products to help our clients solve their most complex and interesting business problems. We surround our technologists with interesting challenges, innovative minds, and emerging technologies.
What You’ll Do
-
As a Senior Architect for ServiceNow SPM, EA, and ITx, you will serve as the senior architectural authority across the planning-to-execution span of the platform: Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), Enterprise Architecture (EA), and the core IT workflow products covering IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and IT Asset Management (ITAM). You will architect, propose, and lead solution delivery based on requirements provided by the Slalom team and clients. Your solutions will be holistic, scalable, and designed with repeatable patterns for maximum productivity. You will engage confidently with both business and technology stakeholders, demonstrating high business proficiency, professional maturity, and executive presence. As a senior architect you also set direction for other architects and consultants working in these areas, and you are the escalation point when a design decision spans more than one of them. Your primary responsibility is solution architecture and delivery leadership. That said, this is a techno-functional role: you bring enough process depth to cover for the business process consultant when an engagement calls for it, and enough commercial judgment to support engagement management periodically on scope, estimation, staffing, and delivery planning.
-
Lead ServiceNow SPM, EA, and IT workflow implementation workshops to deliver business process designs, technical requirements, user stories, and solution artifacts
-
Architect end-to-end solutions including strategic planning, demand and idea intake, project and portfolio management, resource and financial planning, business capability and application portfolio models, technology standards and lifecycle governance, the ITSM process suite, infrastructure discovery and service mapping, event and alert management, and hardware and software asset lifecycle
-
Own the architectural connective tissue between these areas: how investment decisions in SPM become demands and projects, how the application and technology portfolio in EA reconciles with the CMDB, and how asset and service data support both
-
Develop comprehensive solution design documents and roadmaps from complex planning, portfolio, service, operations, and asset requirements
-
Partner with clients using a future-focused mindset to understand their planning cadence, application estate, service operations, and asset position, aligning ServiceNow capabilities to measurable improvements in investment transparency, service quality, and cost control
-
Lead and participate in design workshops, development, testing, deployment, and organizational change activities across enterprise and public sector accounts
-
Architect operating models and governance frameworks spanning portfolio and investment governance, architecture review and technology standards governance, IT service management process governance, CMDB data governance, and asset governance
-
Set and enforce architecture standards across engagements in these areas, including data model boundaries, integration patterns, and reuse of common components
-
Ensure quality delivery leveraging ServiceNow best practices, platform standards, and proven implementation patterns
-
Advise executive stakeholders on investment prioritization, application rationalization, technology risk exposure, service quality, asset cost position, and overall platform maturity
-
Serve as the senior escalation point for architectural decisions that span SPM, EA, and the IT workflow products, including where a capability belongs and where it does not
-
Mentor architects, technical consultants, and business process consultants working in these areas, reviewing their designs and raising the consistency of architectural judgment across the team
-
Flex into business process consultant work on an as-needed basis, running discovery and design sessions, eliciting requirements, and writing epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria when an engagement calls for it
-
Support engagement management periodically, contributing to scope definition, estimation, staffing plans, risk and dependency management, and delivery planning alongside the engagement lead
-
Respond to Requests for Information and Proposals (RFIs/RFPs) with authoritative content, implementation approaches, and value propositions across all of these areas
-
Contribute to practice development through delivery accelerators, reference architectures, thought leadership, industry insights, and client offerings spanning planning and IT execution
-
Collaborate across these areas and adjacent workflows including Security Operations, Governance, Risk, and Compliance, DevOps, AI, and Data Foundations to deliver integrated platform solutions
-
What You’ll Bring
-
You are a seasoned practitioner who thrives in complex enterprise environments and has a track record of delivering transformational ServiceNow implementations across both the planning layer and the IT execution layer. You lead from the architecture seat, you set direction for other architects, and you are equally comfortable stepping into process work or helping steer an engagement when the team needs it.
-
6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow design and delivery experience, with deep expertise across Strategic Portfolio Management, Enterprise Architecture, IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, and IT Asset Management
-
Proven ability to deliver complex implementations with multiple stakeholders, recommending and executing solutions that drive measurable business value, adoption, and organizational alignment
-
Passion for leveraging ServiceNow to streamline planning, service, operations, and asset management, improve planner, service owner, and asset manager experiences, and bring visibility and control to investment, service health, and cost across the IT estate
-
Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of an organization, from PMO leads, service owners, and platform teams to chief architects, CIO, CFO, and C-suite executives, translating portfolio, architecture, service, and cost concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
-
Strong consultative approach with the ability to assess maturity across planning, architecture, service management, and asset management, define roadmaps, manage client expectations, and deliver on tight schedules with high attention to detail
-
Experience leading solution design across strategic planning, demand and idea intake, project and portfolio management, resource and financial planning, business capability and application portfolio models, technology standards and lifecycle governance, the ITSM process suite, infrastructure discovery and service mapping, event and alert management, and hardware and software asset lifecycle
-
Demonstrated experience setting architectural direction for other architects and consultants, and acting as the escalation point for design decisions that cross area boundaries
-
Enough process and functional fluency across demand and portfolio delivery, application rationalization, incident, problem, change and request management, and asset lifecycle to run a requirements or design workshop and cover for the business process consultant when needed
-
Commercial and delivery judgment sufficient to support engagement management periodically, including estimation, scope and change control, staffing models, and risk management
-
Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor and relationship manager to client stakeholders throughout engagement lifecycles
-
Experience facilitating executive workshops focused on planning cadence and demand prioritization, application rationalization, service management standardization, and asset and configuration governance
-
At least 6 full-lifecycle ServiceNow implementations in the role of technical lead, solution architect, or ent
