As a Senior Software engineer, you will be responsible for crafting performant and resilient Android applications,
coupled with Android frameworks and APIs, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
You will play a
critical role in improving app performance and stability while shipping core capabilities that enhance the foundational

About the team:
The Viewer Experience (VX) org is at the heart of how millions discover, engage with, and fall in love
with our platform. We own the end-to-end user journey—from first app launch to daily habit loops—across Search,
Personalization, Watch Experience, Interactivity, and more. We blend world-class engineering, ML, design, and data to
deliver a seamless and personalized experience at massive scale. If you're passionate about building

Key Responsibilities
- Drive app performance, stability, and reliability while monitoring key metrics to guide improvements.
- Lead modernization efforts by migrating legacy APIs and UI tools to the latest Android frameworks and
- patterns.
- Design, develop, and maintain core frameworks, shared components, and development infrastructure
- (Android Studio, Android updates).
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code, while conducting thorough code reviews to ensure engineering
- excellence.
- Define and uphold best practices, engineering standards, and scalable processes across mobile development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless user experiences and create prototypes to explore
- new technologies.
- Mentor Android developers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, including blogs and thought
- leadership
Requirements
- 4-7 years of professional experience as an Android mobile/TV developer with hands-on experience on Kotlin
- Experience in Android mobile/TV native applications development with sound understanding of Android
- Architecture, Framework, Android SDK, Kotlin, Android Studio IDE
- Expert in UI components & controls; Jetpack Compose, Action Bars, Widgets, Fragments, Navigation etc
- Expert in basic components of Android: Activity, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, Content Provider
- Expert in android app performance metrics, improvement strategies and battery optimization tools
- Ability to break down complex problems into simple, innovative solutions that serve business needs
- Knack for problem solving and ability to work in ambiguity
- Good in communication, mentorship, and collaborative skills
Preferred education and experience:
- Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field.
