Job title: Senior Analyst, Supply Chain
About the Role The Senior Analyst, Supply Chain helps optimize Rakuten Kobo's global supply chain to ensure a seamless reading experience for customers worldwide. The role focuses on procurement, order fulfillment, and reverse logistics for Kobo's eReaders and accessories, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and able to drive continuous improvement across day-to-day operations.
What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day communication with Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) partners and coordinate with multiple vendors to align delivery schedules and ensure timely materials flow.
- Follow the monthly planning process, place purchase orders, and ensure adherence to timelines and specifications; proactively communicate potential delays.
- Lead vendor onboarding and evaluate vendor performance, addressing issues related to on-time delivery and order fulfillment.
- Implement procurement strategies to drive cost efficiencies and quality improvements; validate invoices and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal finance.
- Conduct demand forecast, ODM capacity and supply plan analyses; provide data-driven insights to management and cross-functional teams.
- Analyze inventory levels and sales data to identify stock risks and propose proactive solutions; track NRE costs per project and provide trend analyses.
- Build and maintain supply chain models and reports using advanced Excel; provide visibility into KPIs.
- Manage order fulfillment and logistics: communicate delivery schedules with internal/external customers, validate and process returns, and work with 3PL return facilities to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate return order statuses and drive continuous improvement; document processes and update SOPs.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of progressive supply chain experience in tech/consumer electronics or CPG.
- Mandatory experience with enterprise ERP systems for managing complex supply chain operations.
- Hands-on experience across end-to-end supply chain functions: demand planning, procurement, order fulfillment, and reverse logistics (global context preferred).
- Basic understanding of product life cycle and experience supporting new product launches.
- Post-secondary education in Business and/or Supply Chain Management.
- Skills: Advanced Excel skills and ability to build supply chain models; strong analytical capabilities; cross-functional collaboration.
