Job title: Senior Analyst, Global Finance – Business Line Financial Reporting
About the Role The Senior Analyst will be part of Global Finance – Business Line Financial Reporting, with a focus on Global Banking & Markets (GBM). The role is responsible for financial reporting and analysis of periodic results, producing reports for executive management, and supporting the department's objectives while ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
What You'll Do
- Assist with delivery of periodic financials (P&L and Balance Sheet) on a timely basis with data accuracy.
- Assist with preparation of periodic statutory and business line results for Global Banking and Markets; communicate with business units during close to coordinate data collection.
- Perform reasonability checks on statutory and business line results; identify and resolve material issues timely.
- Maintain and implement internal controls; review and prepare statutory journal entries; ensure entries processed within published timetables.
- Maintain and develop strong controls over operational and analytical processes; communicate and resolve accounting and reporting issues with business units and management.
- Consult with business line Finance partners to stay informed of emerging issues that impact various lines and to resolve them.
- Participate in projects such as developing financial metrics and analytical tools, and Global Finance initiatives; identify efficiency opportunities.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage business partnerships.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in delivering periodic financials and reporting for a financial services organization, including P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Strong ability to coordinate with multiple business units during close and to collect financial data accurately.
- Proficiency in identifying material issues and ensuring timely resolution; strong analytical skills.
- Experience maintaining internal controls and preparing statutory journal entries under tight timetables.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional partners; proactive in addressing accounting and reporting issues.
- Demonstrated initiative in projects, financial metrics development, and process efficiency improvements.
- Knowledge of regulatory and policy requirements and commitment to compliant operations.
