About the Role Fitch Ratings’ Funds & Asset Management group seeks a Senior Analyst based in Toronto to support fund ratings analysis, methodology development, and research on regulatory developments affecting the asset management sector. The role combines quantitative and qualitative credit assessment, on-site due diligence, and collaboration with investors, managers, and regulators to drive timely, independent opinions.
What You'll Do
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the credit quality of funds and structured transactions, including portfolio analysis
- Lead on-site due diligence review meetings with fund managers
- Develop new methodologies for rating funds and structures based on market demand
- Author research on relevant trends affecting the sectors the group covers
- Review legal documentation for transactions, including indentures, prospectuses, etc.
- Develop financial models and databases
- Present rating recommendations to committees
- Mentor, develop, and direct the group’s team members
- Participate in industry events and interact with investors, bankers, fund managers, and other market participants
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of experience in finance, with exposure to funds or structured finance transactions a plus; a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, accounting, or computer science
- Sound academic track record to at least a bachelor’s degree level
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with fund finance (nice to have)
- Knowledge of SQL, VBA, and/or other programming languages (nice to have)
- Demonstrated track record of initiative and achievement (nice to have)

Compensation & Benefits
- For New York, Chicago and Austin roles only: Base pay rates between $95,000 and $110,000 USD. Actual salaries will be determined on an individual basis.
