About this role
Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Analyst in Cyber Security Threat Management based in Limerick, Ireland. This role sits within the Cyber Coordination Centre and focuses on the initial triage of potential security incidents on our SIEM, while contributing to the security monitoring model to strengthen the company’s ability to protect its networks and information.
Responsibilities
- Conduct incident analysis on security alerts in the SIEM and respond using security runbooks and playbooks, while applying your own initiative and skills.
- Collaborate with Security teams to develop SOAR/automation solutions to increase efficiency and speed of response to security events.
- Apply skills in the emerging AI space to triage and remediate threats.
- Design, review, and tune alerts to improve efficiency.
- Mentor and coach team members on new procedures and playbooks developed.
- Escalate incidents as needed for immediate action.
Requirements
- Creative, imaginative problem solver with an adversarial mindset, understanding the goals, behaviors, and TTPs of threat actors.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Experience in information technology or cyber security roles, including security operations and incident response.
- Programming knowledge and aptitude.
- Demonstrated interest in cyber security and potential for a career change into this field.
