Job title: Senior Accounting Professional
About the Role A senior accounting professional responsible for applying accounting theory to cost accounting, manufacturing analysis, reconciliations, and policy compliance for Special Metals Corporation. The role ensures accuracy of financial statements in compliance with SOX and PCC policies and provides guidance within the Accounting department.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Excess and Obsolete, Variance Capitalization, and LCM calculations/analysis.
- Prepare and enter month-end journal entries, such as accruals and recurring monthly entries.
- Reconcile monthly inventory and cost of sales GL accounts.
- Participate in audits of financial data and processes.
- Assist in Cycle Counting.
- Light weekend work and travel as required.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS in Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting; CPA/MBA preferred.
- 5-7 years of Accounting/Finance experience.
- Knowledge of statutory accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work in dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
- Excellent team player with flexible and open attitude; strong verbal and written communication.
- Self-starter with the ability to reason and solve complex problems with minimal supervision.
- Excellent computer skills, especially Excel; Oracle ERP, SAS, or SQL experience is a bonus.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization; willingness to spend time in manufacturing environment.
- Maturity, professionalism, and high discretion; independent thinker.
Nice to Have
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Oracle ERP, SAS, or SQL experience is a bonus.
