About the Role Intuit's Chief Accounting Office (CAO) is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead the accounting and operations functions related to general liabilities, including AP accruals, contingencies, vendor rebates, and debt. This role is responsible for accurate, policy-aligned close and reporting, and for developing the team to deliver reliable liability accounting and controls. Based in San Diego, CA, the leader will collaborate across Accounting, Finance, and business partners to resolve issues and drive process improvements. What You'll Do
- Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Understand the end-to-end operational, financial, and system environment that drives liability accruals (including PO activity, company credit card activity, contingencies, vendor rebates, and debt).
- Enforce the Company's policies related to Service Purchase Order accrual accounting.
- Exercise good judgment in managing end-to-end accounting and operational risk with transparency.
- Oversee staff activities, develop the team, and promote trust, accountability, and excellence.
- Attract, develop, motivate, and retain talent within your team and, when needed, within the broader Corporate Accounting team.
- Proactively lead and influence cross-functionally at all levels; cultivate relationships with Accounting, Finance, and Business leaders to support timely, high-quality decisions on liability accruals.
- Clearly articulate positions on accounting issues and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them with transparency.
- Apply professional skepticism to review the reasonableness of underlying accounts. What We're Looking For

- Experience leading accounting for general liabilities and related processes (AP accruals, contingencies, vendor rebates, debt) and understanding of PO accruals and related activity.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple functions and roles; navigate difficult issues and drive resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end accounting risk with transparency and effective stakeholder communication.
- Proven track record of attracting, developing, motivating, and retaining talent; ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships across Accounting, Finance, and Business.
- Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate viewpoints and influence decisions at all levels.
