About the role
Paystack is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to help build a world-class financial reporting and control function across Nigeria and our expansion markets. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, while building scalable processes that support the company's rapid growth.
You will work closely with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Product, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality financial insights, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure seamless month-end close processes across multiple entities.
You will own the end-to-end financial reporting lifecycle from transaction recording to management reporting, ensuring alignment with group reporting standards and compliance with applicable accounting frameworks. This includes managing complex reconciliations, resolving banking and treasury-related issues, and driving audit readiness across all entities.
This is a full-time role based in Nigeria, reporting directly to the Finance Leadership team.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or commercial finance roles
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow analysis
- Proven experience managing month-end close processes in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle ERP Cloud
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reconciliations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple entities and deliver under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Bonus points if you have
- Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services environments
- Exposure to multi-country or expansion market reporting
- Familiarity with US GAAP and/or IFRS reporting standards
- Experience working with large-scale reconciliations and banking operations
- Exposure to tools such as Metabase, Tableau, or SQL for financial analysis
- Proven track record of improving financial processes and reducing reporting timelines
