About the job

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance & Accounting team. In this role, you will play a central part in driving our month-end/quarter-end close processes, managing multi-entity financial operations, establishing robust internal controls, and delivering actionable financial insights to leadership.

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, cross-functional engineering and operational teams, and bookkeeping personnel to translate business growth into structured, scalable accounting workflows.

What You’ll Do

  • Financial Close & Operations

  • Month-End & Quarter-End Close: Lead close activities including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, bonus calculations, and comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Multi-Entity Management: Oversee day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities, including cash flow monitoring, payment processing, and entity-level reporting.

  • Payroll & Contractor Accounting: Reconcile bi-weekly payroll and monthly contractor invoices, ensuring accurate general ledger entries.

  • Tax & Compliance

  • Calculate and process monthly/quarterly sales and use tax filings across all entities, ensuring strict GAAP compliance and confidentiality.

  • Reporting, FP&A & Leadership Collaboration

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly reporting packages (P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheets) and present budget-to-actual variance analyses to department leaders.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes to align financial plans with anticipated expenditures.

  • Strategic Partnering: Work closely with executive and technical leadership to translate high-level growth strategies into actionable financial processes and operational models.

  • Process Improvement, Audit & Leadership

  • Systems & Workflow Optimization: Implement and refine accounting systems, automate manual reporting processes, and establish strong internal controls (SOX principles).

  • Team Oversight: Review journal entries and reconciliations completed by bookkeeping staff, providing task execution support and quality control.

  • Audit & Tax Preparation: Prepare schedules, supporting documentation, and reconciliations for annual external audits and tax returns.

  • What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (preference for experience in Software/Tech/SaaS environments).
  • Technical GAAP & Controls: Deep knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise with QuickBooks and Google Workspace / MS Excel.
  • Process & Team Management: Proven track record in project/process management, workflow tracking, and guiding the work of junior accounting/bookkeeping team members.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • QuickBooks Certification.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance experience.
  • Experience scaling finance operations in a high-growth startup environment.

Key Soft Skills:

  • Proactive Problem Solver: Comfortable calling out inconsistencies, flagging financial risks, and proposing concrete solutions.

  • Adaptable & Fast-Paced: Ability to thrive alongside visionary technical leaders, turning high-level ideas into structured financial workflows.

  • Strong Communicator: Capable of translating complex financial data into plain-language insights for non-finance stakeholders.

  • Why Join Us?

  • Direct impact on company growth and operational scale.

  • Collaborative, fast-moving work culture.

  • Opportunity to build and refine processes from the ground up.
