Colleen McAuliffe at Robert Half is looking for a Senior Accountant to join a growing medical technology organization in Fremont, California. This position supports core financial operations in a dynamic environment where accuracy, accountability, and collaboration are essential. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple priorities while contributing to ongoing process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop monthly budget-versus-actual reporting and examine material fluctuations to explain business drivers and financial impact.

  • Partner with global operational teams to record revenue and inventory activity accurately across international transactions.

  • Produce detailed analyses for inventory balances, warranty reserves, and royalty accruals while coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Perform month-end close activities, including reconciliations for fixed assets, lease obligations, bank accounts, and other general ledger balances.

  • Prepare business property tax documentation, including Form 571-L, and help ensure timely and accurate submissions.

  • Monitor state-level filing obligations and support compliance with applicable reporting requirements.

  • Work with external auditors by providing schedules, documentation, and explanations during annual audit procedures.

  • Build working knowledge across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related accounting processes to strengthen team coverage and continuity.

  • Contribute to special accounting projects and identify opportunities to improve controls, workflows, and reporting efficiency.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

  • CPA designation is preferred.

  • At least 3 years of public accounting audit experience or comparable industry accounting experience.

  • Background in medical device, medical technology, or a similarly regulated industry is highly valued.

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and account analysis.

  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite is strongly preferred.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial data.

  • Proven ability to manage competing deadlines, investigate discrepancies, communicate clearly, and deliver accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
