Senior Accountant
HYBRID WORK OPPORTUNITY FOR A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT IN THE COLUMBIA AREA!! ONLY IN THE OFFICE 1-2 DAYS A WEEK AFTER A TRAINING PERIOD!
Robert Half has partnered with a long-time and reputable client to hire a Senior Accountant to join their accounting team! Successful candidates will need to be capable of rising to a variety of challenges while juggling multiple components of month-end close. Your duties will require preparing journal entries, assisting with monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliations, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliations. In this role, you will perform various internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, review schedules, and oversee an accounting clerk responsible for payables and billing. How will you make an impact:
- Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
- Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
- Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations
- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
- Take part in various department-wide initiatives
- Oversee, motivate and counsel assigned staff
- Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience in public accounting or corporate accounting
- Strong familiarity with balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger management
- Excellent analytical, time-management, and organizational skills
- Must possess strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Excel proficiency is a necessity
- Previous direct / indirect supervisory oversight
