Job title: Senior Accountant
About the Role This senior accounting role supports Special Metals Corporation within Precision Castparts. The role requires applying accounting theory to cost accounting, manufacturing analysis, reconciliations, and policy compliance, ensuring financial statements are accurate in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and PCC policies. This position also involves providing guidance and counsel for the work of others within the Accounting department.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Excess and Obsolete, Variance Capitalization, and LCM calculations/analysis.
- Prepare and enter month-end journal entries, such as accruals and regularly recurring monthly entries.
- Reconcile monthly inventory and cost of sales GL accounts.
- Participate in audits of financial data and processes.
- Assist in Cycle Counting.
- Light weekend work and travel as required.
- Provide guidance and counsel for the work of others within the Accounting department.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting.
- Experience or familiarity with cost accounting, manufacturing analysis, account reconciliations, accounting policy compliance, and a SOX/PCC environment.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills; ability to provide guidance to others in the Accounting department.
