Job Description Med-Vical International is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting management with timely financial information for effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial transactions.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
- Conduct regular account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Support payroll-related accounting and financial reconciliations.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure proper documentation and financial controls.
- Assist with internal and external audits and provide required documentation.
- Identify financial risks, control weaknesses, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Monitor expenditure and provide recommendations for cost control.
- Prepare financial analysis and reports for management decision-making.
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of accounting and financial documentation.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline with 4 – 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- ICAN qualification is required.
- Experience in a healthcare, hospital, pharmaceutical, or similar regulated environment will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
