Senior Accountant (Manufacturing - Building and Construction) Job Type: Full Time Qualification: BA/BSc/HND, Diploma, Professional Certificate Experience: 5 years Location: Nairobi Job Field: Finance / Accounting / Audit Salary Range: KSh 50,000 - KSh 100,000/month

Position Summary The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, planning and reporting to ensure sound financial management and informed decision-making. The role will provide financial guidance to management, oversee budgeting and cash-flow management, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, strengthen internal controls, and support the overall financial performance and growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that suppliers invoices and petty cash vouchers are accurately processed as and when they fall due.
• Ensure financial accounting, journal entry, fixed assets bookings, recording receipts and processing payments are done accurately and on time.
• Reconcile bank accounts daily and resolve any outstanding items.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and resolve outstanding items.
• Maintain a cash-flow report on weekly basis for purpose of planning and payment of suppliers.
• Maintain updated Fixed Asset register.
• Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct.
• Process reimbursements.
• Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
• Oversee the company’s financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Periodical customer and supplier account reconciliations.
• Debtors Review on monthly basis and follow up on outstanding debts.
• Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Ensure adequate internal controls and compliance with legislative, regulatory and statutory requirements; Value Added Tax (VAT), Pay As You Earn (PAYE), National Social Security Fund (NSSF), With Holding Tax (WHT) among others.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Prepare audit schedules for internal and external audits.
• Ensuring improvement of the business through Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), compliance with company policy and approvals framework. Monitor cash flow, working capital, revenue and expenditure.
• Maintain digital and physical financial records and an organized filing system on a monthly basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• CPA, ACCA certification preferred.
• Experience: 5 years’ experience as financial controller in a manufacturing company, building and construction.
• Proficiency in an ERP system (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Sage) and advanced Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
