Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to ensure accurate and timely financial records.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting and financial transactions.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and other account reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial transactions.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
• Maintain proper accounting records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules and documentation.
• Review financial data and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Establish and maintain effective financial controls.
• Provide management with financial insights to support business decisions.
• Supervise and guide junior accounting staff where applicable.

Requirements

• BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a senior accounting role.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Experience with reconciliations, financial statements, budgeting, and tax compliance.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Salary

N500,000 - N600,000 per month.
