About the Role AIG’s Senior Account Risk Engineer for Power Generation drives loss prevention and risk assessment for energy accounts worldwide. This home-based role conducts loss control surveys, collaborates with underwriters, clients and brokers, and supports risk identification and mitigation across Power Generation, Renewable Energy, and related sectors. What You'll Do
- Conduct loss control inspections, desk top reviews, and account reviews for energy accounts.
- Determine key loss prevention attributes at facilities; evaluate hazards associated with turbine generators, power generation equipment, and renewable technology.
- Evaluate overall Management Programs and Maintenance Programs; assess business interruption exposures including Contingent Business Interruption (CBI) and Interdependencies BI (IBI).
- Determine building construction and assess construction characteristics; analyze water supplies and sprinkler system adequacy.
- Identify occupancy hazards and assess protection features; identify external exposures and their impact.
- Determine fire and natural catastrophe loss estimates for facilities.
- Conduct consultative visits at customer facilities and plan reviews; document survey results in a data-driven report writing application.
- Mentor and train lesser experienced staff.
- Travel approximately 50%, predominantly in the US and Latin America. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
- Minimum five years of industry experience in Power Generation and Renewable Energy.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of a wide range of occupancies and exposures; strong problem-solving ability; rapid learner; adaptable; able to manage multiple concurrent projects; strong communication.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, collaborate with colleagues, and deliver solutions.
- Superb verbal and written communication skills; ability to read construction drawings and perform inspections.
- Valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience; willingness to travel up to 50%. Nice to Have
