Job title: Security Systems Installer Team Lead

About the Role As a Security Systems Installer Team Lead, you will oversee day-to-day installation activity on customer sites, lead installation teams, and help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to specification. You will work with integrated security systems including Fire Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV, while coaching installers to deliver a professional customer experience.

What You'll Do

  • Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV at customer sites.
  • Lead installation teams on larger projects and support the on-site execution of work.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced installers and help raise team performance on active jobs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and manuals.
  • Supervise and inspect installation work to help ensure customer and contract requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, customers, and, when required, police or fire departments to support project completion.
  • Repair and reprogram panels, replace devices, and address low-voltage circuit issues as needed.
  • Document completed work, activity, accuracy, productivity, and job status.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and commissioning devices safely and effectively.
  • Support permits or code-related requirements when needed.
  • Own the outcome by working safely, keeping quality high, and following through on every installation from start to finish.
  • Plan your work from the drawings and submittals, verify materials and equipment, and keep the job organized on site.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience installing, programming, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV.
  • Proven ability to lead installation teams on larger projects and manage on-site execution.
  • Strong skills reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and raise team performance; strong coaching mindset.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Proficiency with low-voltage electrical work, panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement, and diagnosing circuit issues.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and code-related requirements; commitment to quality.
  • On-site, field-based experience in security systems installation and integration.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (dispatch, customers, emergency services).
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills.
