What You'll Do

Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.

Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.

Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the shelter location, surrounding grounds, entry points, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.

Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, documenting observations and reporting incidents to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift-related documentation while communicating relevant information to incoming personnel.
Minimum Requirements:

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.

Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

Possess CPR certification, preferred.

Have access control and/or badge experience, preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
