Job Summary
- We are urgently seeking for a Security Officer responsible for ensuring the security of the office premises, staff, visitors, and company property, while carrying out basic maintenance and reporting faults that require specializedattention.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine security patrols and protect company property, also to deter and detect any suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Managing entry and exit points by verifying identification and authorizations for employees and visitors, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Responding promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, taking appropriate action to ensure safety and security. Document and report incidents accurately.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations for record-keeping and investigation purposes.
- Conducting regular safety checks of facilities to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist visitors and employees with inquiries, directions, and information while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Work closely with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Carry out basic maintenance, including changing faulty light bulbs and performing minor repairs
- Inspect office facilities and report electrical faults, damaged fittings, and other maintenance issues.
- Maintain tools and equipment and perform other related duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- A minimum of an SSCE certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
- Previous security or maintenance experience is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures and maintenance practices.
- Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and respond quickly to emergencies.
