As a Screener at a shelter location, you will help create a welcoming, secure environment by screening visitors and belongings, monitoring entry points, and reporting security-related concerns. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.

• Screen individuals entering the shelter location, verify authorization as required, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.

• Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry, prohibited items, and disruptive activity in accordance with established procedures.

• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, trauma-informed, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.

• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the facility perimeter, documenting observations and reporting maintenance concerns or unusual conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.

• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
