As a Security Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and use computer or tablet technology as needed. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $20.15 / Hour

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204):

• Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets for daily tasks, including but not limited to email communication, document creation, and online collaboration tools.

• Training sessions will be provided for those who may need additional support in using technology effectively.

• 21+ Years of Age (C101):

• All candidates must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment. This requirement is in place to comply with legal regulations and company policies.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking locations, and campus perimeters to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, documenting incidents and completing required reports.
• Support a welcoming educational environment by providing directions, answering general questions, and maintaining professional communication with the campus community.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
