Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Shift Handover in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a renowned educational and cultural location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors, students, and staff. Job Schedule: Day Time Mon 09:30 AM - 05:00 PM Thu 09:30 AM - 05:00 PM Fri 09:30 AM - 05:00 PM Sat 09:30 AM - 05:00 PM Sun 09:30 AM - 05:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, students, faculty, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, classrooms, public spaces, offices, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor visitor activity and building access, verify credentials when required, and provide directions or assistance in a professional manner.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
• Support the protection of art, educational spaces, and property by reporting unusual conditions, damaged equipment, and potential hazards in accordance with site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
