Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Observer in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for individuals, visitors, and staff. You will deliver exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to changing needs. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and program participants while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.

• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.

• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, reporting unauthorized access, maintenance concerns, and other security-related issues.

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.

• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications with clear and accurate information.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

• CPR certification is preferred.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
