Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Mobile Patrol Driver in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic higher education location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide welcoming customer service to students, staff, and visitors. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy. Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.

• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus contacts and emergency responders as needed.

• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.

• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, helping to deter unauthorized access and policy violations through visible presence and professional communication.

• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs related to incidents, observations, patrols, and security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

• Customer service experience is preferred.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
