Role Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems for commercial clients, including access control, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems. You will work across installation, troubleshooting, testing, programming, and handoff to help ensure each system performs reliably and meets customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and program integrated security systems, including access control, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems.

• Install cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations in accordance with the National Electric Code, company guidelines, and customer requirements.

• Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot installation issues, isolate faults, and verify proper operation after repairs or adjustments.

• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software and systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.

• Mount, secure, feed, route, and terminate cables and equipment using hand and power tools, including work through access holes, roof spaces, cavity walls, wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.

• Perform system checks, readjust equipment as needed, repair or replace inoperative components, and confirm successful operation.

• Provide end-user training, complete required job documentation, and submit paperwork related to each assignment.

• Work independently to complete installation jobs while maintaining a professional, customer-focused approach.

• How You Will Do It

• Own each installation with accountability, safety, and integrity from start to finish.

• Stay close to the work, remove obstacles quickly, and keep customers informed when troubleshooting or scheduling needs change.

• Use blueprints, system documentation, and test equipment to solve problems accurately and improve every day through practical, candid problem-solving.

• Work as one team with customers, peers, and support partners, building trust and respecting diverse perspectives.

• Finish the job thoroughly by completing system checks, end-user training, and all required paperwork before handoff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Significant background in commercial fire alarm systems.

• Significant background in commercial digital and analog camera systems.

• Significant background in commercial access control systems.

• Understanding of the function and design of alarm systems.

• Two or more years of experience with IP addressable security devices.

• Computer literacy, including advanced TCP/IP networking skills.

• Proficiency with ADT A.I. core card access and CCTV systems.

• Proficiency with NFPA Code and the National Electric Code (NEC).

• Ability to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.

• Nice to Have

• Associate degree or graduation from a two-year technical school program.

• An industry-recognized apprentice training program in place of formal education.

• NICET I, II, or III.

• Any Town Fire Alarm Listed Agent Certifications.

• Access control certifications such as Prowatch, Kantech Access, C-Cure 800 or C-Cure 9000, or Casi-Facility Commander, Picture Perfect, or Secure Perfect.

• CCTV analog certifications such as Bosch, Ademco/Honeywell Security, DSC, DMP Security / Access / Fire, Fire Lite, Notifier, Gamewell / FCI, Edwards, Simplex / AutoCall, Pelco, American Dynamics, or Cisco.

• CCTV IP certifications such as Genetec - Access / CCTV, Indigo Vision, Speco CCTC, or Exaqvision.

• Experience with visitor management platforms such as Honeywell Lobby Works, Stopware, Access Sentry, or AIPHONE.

• Additional experience with MCSE, CCNA, Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems, or Security Gate Operators.
