Job Description

As a Security Guard Residential Shelter in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelters. As a Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor activity, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity and professionalism. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access to the shelter location, verify authorized entry, and maintain visitor and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entrances, and the perimeter, while reporting security-related concerns.
• Support a welcoming, respectful environment by applying site rules consistently and using de-escalation techniques when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
