Security Engineer

About the Role We are seeking a Security Engineer with hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting security tools to strengthen our security infrastructure. This role focuses on evaluating, deploying, and maintaining a suite of security technologies to protect HubSpot's assets. The ideal candidate will have deep tool deployment and troubleshooting skills across modern security solutions. What You'll Do

• Lead the planning, deployment, and configuration of security tools, ensuring integration with existing systems.
• Diagnose and resolve security tool issues in real time to maintain effectiveness and uptime.
• Research, test, and recommend new security technologies; lead POC projects.
• Collaborate with IT and other teams to integrate tools across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Develop automation scripts to improve efficiency and response times.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, troubleshooting, and best practices.
• Partner with incident response and vulnerability management teams to align tool requirements and improve security.
• Provide training and mentorship on security tools to junior team members and stakeholders. What We're Looking For
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity with focus on security engineering, tool deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CEH, or vendor-specific certifications for security tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, Netskope, Tenable).
• Strong hands-on experience with endpoint protection, SIEM, vulnerability management, EDR, DLP, and network security tools.
• Deep troubleshooting skills across hardware and software security solutions.
• Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• Understanding of networking, cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS).
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Nice to Have
• Experience with SASE tools (Netskope, Zscaler) and EDR tools (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
• Knowledge of Endpoint Privilege Management and Application Allowlisting.
• Experience with Email Security and SIEM management specifics. Compensation & Benefits
• Annual Cash Compensation Range: €56,000—€70,000 EUR (base + on-target commissions and annual bonus targets). Some roles may participate in HubSpot’s equity plan with RSUs.
