Job title: Security Ambassador - Weekends (Sat/Sun - 6:30am-3pm)
About the Role Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a part-time Security Ambassador to serve on weekends, providing assistance, guest services, and security presence to patients and visitors. You will help create a welcoming, safe, and efficient environment for the hospital campus and surrounding communities.
What You'll Do
- Provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, and staff; greet, assist, and direct individuals in a professional, proactive, and friendly manner.
- Welcome and acknowledge visitors, patients, and staff; provide information and directions; anticipate needs.
- Assist individuals with disabilities and/or mobility issues with obtaining transportation and other services.
- Communicate specific requests to other departments (transportation, patient relations, environmental services) to ensure follow-up.
- Help coordinate patient transportation out of the hospital as needed (taxi, shuttle, etc.).
- Maintain assigned post area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Provide a security presence, conflict resolution, access control, and requesting services; enforce rules as required.
- Report and stay current on security issues and concerns.
- Provide support to Security field services during fires, mass casualty events, HAZMAT occurrences, medical emergencies, and other emergencies as needed.
- Provide other assistance to Security field staff as directed; perform additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED; at least one year of customer service experience (two years in healthcare or hospitality preferred).
- Ability to pass an initial and annual criminal background check.
- Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid (will be provided).
- Excellent communication skills; friendly, service-oriented attitude; reliable and flexible.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and multitask.
- Prefer multi-language abilities.
Nice to Have
- Multilingual abilities (bilingual preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $40,000 - $44,200 per year (USD).
