About the Role
The secretary provides secretarial and administrative support for an academic or administrative unit(s) at Gannon University, supporting and promoting the University’s Mission.
What You'll Do
- Accurately and independently prepare communications and reports for assigned academic unit(s), including accreditation and clinical education.
- Prepare and maintain accurate student, faculty, and program files/data consistent with accreditation and university expectations.
- Prioritize task initiation and completion consistent with the needs of the university and academic unit(s).
- Assist with management of purchases, expenses, inventory, and budget data; monitor and maintain budget and inventory documentation.
- Provide inquiries, data (as appropriate), exam proctoring, and onboarding requirements for clinical partners to the academic unit(s) and student body.
- Facilitate necessary and accurate communication among university offices to support seamless operations and services to students, employees, guests, and community partners.
- Assist academic unit(s) with event planning and coordination; available for university event assistance as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility and requirements of the job.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Educational background equivalent to a high school degree/GED with specialized courses in bookkeeping, typing/word-processing, and office procedures. Business school training is preferred.
- Experience: Three years of general secretarial experience; working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and office equipment (e.g., computer, calculator, copier).
- Skills: Excellent verbal, written, proofreading and organizational skills; ability to read and comprehend work orders, written instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to transcribe correspondence and enter data into records and logs with accuracy; ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities, seeking direction regarding courses of action; ability to research and compile data; and the ability to interpret and communicate policy as directed.
Nice to Have
- Business school training is preferred.
