Position Overview
- The 2nd Engineer is the second-in-command within the engine department and directly supports the Chief Engineer in managing the tugboat’s mechanical and electrical systems. This role requires technical competence, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure continuous operation of propulsion, auxiliary, and support systems—especially in the demanding conditions of offshore towing, harbor assist, and berthing operations.
- The ideal candidate will possess hands-on engineering experience with diesel engines, generator sets, pumps, and preferably ASD propulsion units, with a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.
