Position Summary
- Responsible for overseeing the day-to-operation of the Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) site located at Southern Illinois Healthcare.

Technical Experience: 2 years of experience with Medicare or related field

Role Specific Responsibilities

Coordinates the SHIP program, recruits and oversees the activities of the volunteer counselor(s).

Maintains SHIP counselor certification and counsels Medicare beneficiaries with problems and questions about Medicare, Medicare supplement plans, Medicare Part D, Medicare managed care and long term care insurance.

Organizes and assists in filing claims for benefits and processing appeals to Medicare and Medicare supplement insurance companies.

Participates in SHIP marketing activities and serves as the Medicare educator for the Second Act membership programs.

Assist the SMP staff as needed with member services, grant process, and special projects.
Compensation (Commensurate with experience):
- $18.28 - $27.42
