About this role
Seaside Memories, Great Chats & New Friendship - Aged Care | ACVVS
A friendly and outgoing gentleman living in an aged care home in Queens Park would love the company of a volunteer who enjoys a good conversation and spending time with others.
Originally from Egypt, he has lived an interesting life and worked as a truck driver, giving him plenty of stories and experiences to share. He loves chatting, following sport, and talking about life, travel and the things that make each day interesting.
The beach has always been one of his favourite places, and he enjoys getting out and about when he can. Whether you're sharing stories on a walk, chatting over a coffee, discussing the latest sporting results, or simply enjoying each other's company, your visit could become a highlight of his week.
Warm, sociable and welcoming, he values connection and would enjoy meeting someone to share his life stories with.
30 minute to 1-hour visits, weekly or fortnightly, between 10:00am and 5:00pm (avoiding lunchtime at 12:00pm). We're happy to work around your availability.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
