ISMIRA Agency actively recruiting for position EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER for Scylla AG! Founded in Switzerland in 1973, Scylla has been setting the standard in premium river cruising for more than 50 years. Their motto is “Quality, our passion”. Today, the company operates more than 40 modern river ships, sailing along the Rhine, Danube, Seine, Rhône, Saône, and many other beautiful rivers across Europe.
As Head Housekeeper, you make sure all guest and crew areas are clean, comfortable, and welcoming. You lead the housekeeping and laundry teams, guiding them to keep every cabin, public space, and crew area in top condition. By working with your team, helping when needed, and keeping everything organized, you help our guests enjoy their time onboard.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for flawless cleanliness, order and compliance with the Scylla hygienic concept according to HACCP in Housekeeping and Laundry as well as regular general cleaning.
- Ensure that rooms are made as per company standard.
- Responsible for dealing carefully with equipment, machines and cleaning agents in the housekeeping department.
- Responsible for the compliance with and the achievement of the predetermined turnover and cost budgets.
- Daily inspection of cabins and public areas and clean a 4-6 cabins per day if necessary.
- Responsible for team building and team spirit in the Housekeeping and Laundry departments (role model function).
- Fair and equal treatment towards all crew.
- Managing, training and mentoring the Housekeeping / Laundry crew according to Scylla standards If necessary training of new crew and follow-up.
- Support, training and mentoring potential (crewmembers on their way to management positions), in consultation with the Hotel Manager and/ or Hotel Operations Manager.
- Responsible for the behaviour and appearance of the Housekeeping / Laundry crew, including dress code during spare time on board.
- Responsible for the correct acceptance, care and return of guest linen as well as the crew uniforms.
- Responsible for the inspection and return of crew uniforms at the end of the season.

Requirements
- Age: min. 18 years old
- Preferably experienced within the hotel industry and/ or previous ship experience.
- Stress resistant, calm under pressure, team player with positive attitude.
- Open minded, independent and flexible with strong customer focus.
- Professional attitude and appearance, reliable and hard-working able to work long shifts.
- Crew on board river cruises have to be ready for mixed duties and multitasking.
Languages vs Nationality Requirements:

Good English skills (written & verbal) required for all positions.

German-speakers (advanced level) can also be be considered with basic English.

EU nationals can apply and join during whole season without visas.

Non-EU nationals apply for D type German visa before joining, thus may apply only before season starts.

Non-EU nationals that speak no German language may be considered only for culinary positions OR if they have strong previous cruise ship experieence in the same position.
