About the Role A Scientific Lead in ICON Global Medical Communications will provide independent approval of scientific/clinical content for assigned projects, oversee quality and mentoring, and collaborate with account teams to drive strategic content and client engagement. What You'll Do
- Content oversight and quality control, including review of manuscripts and materials for accuracy
- Provide strategic insight on product/therapy area and timelines with account managers
- Fact-check manuscripts and oversee project development from initiation to completion, escalating issues with financial impact
- Writing and content-development support for manuscripts, posters, abstracts, slide decks, and other deliverables; obtain/background materials from client; collaborate with editorial support
- Mentor and onboard junior medical writers; conduct background research for new business proposals and growth opportunities What We're Looking For
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred; PharmD/MD considered)
- 4–5+ years in high-level content development in medical communications agency settings
- 3+ years as a Senior Medical Writer (strongly preferred)
- CMPP/MAPPS certification desired; strong knowledge of ICMJE and GPP; experience with diverse journal styles
- Demonstrated ability to manage people and client relationships; cross-functional teamwork
- Proficiency with PubMed/Medline, clinicaltrials.gov, and other industry resources Nice to Have
- CMPP/MAPPS Certification, great to have
