Job title: School Psychologist (Spanish speaking preferred)
About the Role The Morris School District is seeking a School Psychologist (Spanish-speaking preferred) to evaluate eligibility for special education, participate on the Child Study Team, manage IEPs, and provide school-based psychological and crisis services while collaborating with staff and families.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate eligibility for special education and related services according to NJAC 6A:14
- Serve as a member of the basic Child Study Team and as a case manager for students with disabilities, coordinating development, monitoring, and evaluating IEPs
- Deliver appropriate related services and provide preventive and support services to students; assist general education staff with learning strategies
- Prepare psychological assessment reports as required by state regulations; interpret assessments to parents, teachers, principals and other staff
- Participate in decisions regarding classification, placement recommendations, and program development/implementation of the IEP
- Serve as a member of the I&RT Team or CORE Team as directed; act as a resource person and consultant to staff, students, parents and the community
- Maintain contacts with professionals in mental health and special education; communicate with school and community committees/agencies
- Provide school-based psychological or crisis-intervention services as needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services or designee
- Contract Terms: 184 days/year
What We're Looking For
- Valid New Jersey School Psychologist certificate
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to interpret psychological assessments and communicate findings to diverse stakeholders
- Experience with eligibility determinations, IEP processes, and CST/RTI involvement
Nice to Have
- Spanish-speaking ability (preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $64,425 – $115,315 per year, in accordance with the Morris School District Salary Guide

- Residency requirement: NJ First Act – employees must reside in New Jersey by a specified date; relocation window for hires after the effective date
