About this role

About the Role The School Psychologist will provide consultation, assessment, and intervention services to families, staff, and children with disabilities within NWRESD's Early Learning programs and partner districts. Based at the Antkwak Early Learning Center, this full-time exempt role reports to the Coordinator - Early Learning and participates in a collaborative approach to support equitable access to high-quality services. What You'll Do

  • Participate in screening and/or development of pre-referral interventions to determine response to intervention and whether further evaluation is needed.
  • Function as a team member in the evaluation process.
  • Assess referred children utilizing a broad range of assessment instruments and techniques.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Family Service Plans and/or Individual Education Plans.
  • Consult with parents, teachers, and other educational personnel to help them understand child development and how it affects learning and behavior.
  • Provide consultation on the special education needs of children.
  • Provide individual, group, or consultative services for referred children whose diagnosed needs would be addressed through behavioral interventions.
  • Prepare and submit the required documentation on children with disabilities.
  • Cooperate with and develop collaborative relationships with personnel of mental health, community health, and other state and local agencies serving and supporting children with special needs; prepare forms as requested by outside agencies.
  • Attend staff, professional, and interagency meetings.
  • Assist in conducting in-service training of ESD and local school district personnel and community members.
  • Initiate and direct appropriate research that is approved in advance by the ESD.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the field.
  • Initiate and direct a responsible route of travel; provide supervisor, team members, and special education secretary with access to weekly schedule and complete report of contacts and mileage forms by designated timelines.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and customers at all organizational levels.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
  • Master's degree, required, or higher degree.
  • Current Oregon School Psychologist License through TSPC with appropriate endorsement(s); or ability to obtain license and endorsement within timeline specified by district.
  • Minimum two years of school psychologist experience (any level) preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License; available transportation and proof of auto insurance.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations.
  • Confer regularly with immediate supervisor.
  • Proficient in the use of computer and internet-based applications, including but not limited to email, internet software, Google Suite, and word processing (MS Word).
  • Thorough knowledge of special education laws and procedures. Nice to Have
  • Two years of school psychologist experience preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with mental health, community health, and other agencies serving children with special needs. Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary is based on NWRESD Licensed Salary Schedule.
  • FTE: 1.0; Days per year: 192; Exempt position.
  • Location: Antkwak Early Learning Center; Reports to Coordinator - Early Learning.
