About the Role The School of Education seeks a Field Supervisor to mentor, coach, and evaluate teacher candidates during PK-12 practicums in Elementary, Secondary, Specialty Endorsement areas (e.g., PE, SPED, ESOL, Reading Intervention) and School Counseling. The supervisor will serve as a liaison among the university, cooperating teachers/mentors, and candidates, ensuring practicum requirements are communicated, completed, and submitted. The role also includes participating in campus informational meetings and supporting Bushnell’s mission of multicultural, faith-based education. What You'll Do

  • Mentor, coach, and evaluate teacher candidates during PK-12 practicums; provide feedback and align with field experience packets.
  • Visit each student’s practicum site frequently as outlined in field experience packets; maintain communication with students, cooperating teachers/mentors and school administrators.
  • Attend all Field Supervisor informational meetings (3-4 times annually on campus).
  • Provide resources and guidance in curriculum development, instructional strategies, assessment techniques, classroom management, and professional disposition. For school counseling candidates, support demonstrating proficiency in competencies associated with the profession.
  • Complete field observations and mid-term and final evaluations for each candidate. What We're Looking For
  • Commitment and experience as an excellent teacher or school counselor.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • A demonstrated commitment to multiculturalism and diversity and to Bushnell University’s Christian mission.
  • Ability to provide meaningful feedback, guidance, and support to aspiring educators.
  • Experience or ability to serve as a liaison between the university and cooperating teachers/mentors and candidates.
  • Willingness to participate in campus informational meetings and to advocate for high-quality clinical experiences.
