Job title: School of Christian Ministries Adjunct (Remote/Online)
About the Role California Baptist University’s School of Christian Ministries invites applicants for a part-time, adjunct position (remote/online) to teach online courses and support online learning in a faith-integrated context.
What You'll Do
- Create weekly video or audio lectures embedded in each weekly module (CBU supports Kaltura video content manager).
- Create at least 1 weekly agenda video and/or descriptive written announcements to orient students to each week’s agenda and assignments.
- Provide constructive, personalized written comments/feedback on all graded assignments to identify strengths and areas for student improvement.
- Adhere to the university Regular Effective Contact policy.
- Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
- Minor assignments graded within 3 days of the due date; major assignments graded within 7 days of the due date.
- This position is for online/remote adjunct teaching opportunities and does not require a local (Southern California) presence.
What We're Looking For
- A terminal degree in the field is preferred, although candidates with a master’s degree who are working toward a terminal degree, or have significant experience in the field, may be considered. Prior online teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and demonstrate a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of the Christian faith and learning.
- Candidates must affirm Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and be a member of a Southern Baptist Church.
- Strong candidates will embody active teaching methods and meet the CBU online education requirements listed above.
Nice to Have
- Prior online teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- Terminal degree is preferred; master's with progress toward terminal degree or significant field experience may be considered.
