Job title: School Based Speech Language Pathologist - Contractor

About the Role The School Based Speech Language Pathologist - Contractor is a remote, 1099 Independent Consultant role for a state-certified SLP responsible for screening, evaluating, and providing therapy to students within their IEP. The role may involve licensure in multiple states and supervising Speech Language Pathology Assistants as they deliver services.

What You'll Do

  • Screen and/or evaluate students with suspected speech-language impairments.
  • Provide case management of speech-only caseload and ensure services per IEP.
  • Coordinate with parents and teachers to schedule regular attendance and participation; develop progress reports and required documentation.
  • Use accommodations/modifications, assistive technology, and accessible texts.
  • Monitor SLPAs/CFY caseload and services; maintain compliance with regulations.
  • Instruct families/teachers in communication strategies and technologies to mitigate educational impact; maintain records.
  • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals; document all contact with parents and interventions.
  • Provide engaging therapy experiences; personalize learning; maintain positive rapport with families; communicate in a timely manner.
  • Support SST/RTI processes; participate in meetings/workshops.
  • Supervisory responsibilities: may supervise up to 4 SLPAs or CFY staff.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or related field.
  • Three (3) years of speech/language work experience in a public-school setting.
  • Ability to work independently with availability during typical school hours (at least 20 hours/week).
  • Professional home office setup; able to work 9-5 in the relevant time zone.
  • Knowledge of IDEA due process requirements; ability to conduct and interpret evaluations; provide therapy services.
  • Collaborative mindset; receptive to coaching; adaptable to change; strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MS365; ability to learn new technologies.
  • Valid state SLP license and ASHA SLP CCC; background check clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Management experience.
  • Online therapy experience.
  • Medicaid documentation experience.
  • Experience with AAC or alternative/augmentative communication.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $55 per hour (1099 contractor).
  • Remote work; open to residents of the 50 states and D.C.
  • Independent Consultant arrangement; flexible schedule within school hours.
