About the Role Schlosser will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems in a manufacturing environment, following safety protocols and preventive maintenance processes. This on-site role supports the site's business goals by minimizing downtime and ensuring reliable operations at Precision Castparts in Redmond, OR.
What You'll Do
- Install and maintain production machines and plant equipment.
- Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service.
- Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders; perform tests, adjustments, and preventive maintenance; some plumbing.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment; lift up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 10 lbs continuously.
- Comply with safety rules and company policies; participate in continuous improvements.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED; ability to read/understand English; ability to read/interpret safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports.
- Strong math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure.
- Able to work independently in a production environment; effective communication with coworkers and vendors; strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to interpret extensive technical instructions and diagrams; apply common sense to carry out instructions.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs frequently and 10 lbs continuously; forklift certification is required; hazardous waste training may be required.
- Must be able to comply with company policies including attendance.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of the mechanical maintenance trade with about two years of experience (millwright or related occupation).
