About the Role This part-time Scheduler in Diagnostic Imaging provides scheduling services and administrative support to enhance the function of the assigned area and deliver an optimal patient experience. The role supports workflow, coordinates resources, and ensures accurate appointment management in a fast-paced clinical setting.

What You'll Do

  • Accurately schedules services and procedures per department protocol for the assigned area.
  • Effectively explains and verifies any exam preparation with patients as applicable.
  • Coordinates resources to ensure appropriate availability of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains professional, effective, and articulate communication verbally and in writing; respects patient privacy according to HIPAA.
  • Works efficiently and calmly under stress and during high patient volume or workload.
  • Collaborates with assigned area leadership and staff to maintain daily operations and complete tasks.
  • Assists with cross-training and onboarding of new hires.
  • Works cooperatively with appropriate departments to reduce duplicate accounts and improve processes.
  • Maintains databases per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Limited Imaging Tech duties (as applicable): assists in non-ionizing radiation cases as primary technician; assists in ionizing radiation cases as circulator; acts as liaison for Interventional Radiology and referring physicians.

What We're Looking For

  • Post-high-school education or vocational training in healthcare, or previous work experience in healthcare or customer service.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
  • Accurate typing speed of 45 wpm (highly preferred).
  • For Limited Imaging Tech: RCIS credentials within one year of hire; CPR as applicable.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, self-starter with critical thinking, able to set priorities and function as part of a team or independently.
  • Commitment to teamwork and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.

Nice to Have

  • RCIS credentials within one year of hire (preferred).
  • CPR certification (preferred).
