Job Description: SAP ABAP RAP Developer
Experience: 7 to 12 Years Job Type: Full-time Location: Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP RAP Developer with 7 to 12 years of experience in SAP ABAP development. The candidate should have good hands-on experience with RAP, CDS Views, OData services, and SAP S/4HANA.
The ideal candidate should have worked on at least one end-to-end RAP implementation and be comfortable developing, testing, and supporting SAP applications. The role involves working closely with functional consultants and technical teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SAP applications using ABAP and RAP.
- Work on SAP S/4HANA and ABAP on HANA development.
- Create and optimize CDS Views, including associations, annotations, and data models.
- Develop and expose OData services using SAP Gateway and RAP.
- Work on RAP business objects, including managed and unmanaged scenarios.
- Develop behavior definitions and implementations, service definitions, and service bindings.
- Implement validations, determinations, actions, and authorization checks.
- Work with ABAP Objects, BAdIs, enhancements, user exits, and custom reports.
- Debug issues and improve application performance.
- Coordinate with functional consultants and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, defect fixing, and deployment activities.
- Follow SAP development standards and best practices.
Required Skills
- 7–10 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong practical experience in SAP RAP.
- At least one end-to-end RAP implementation experience.
- Good knowledge of ABAP on HANA and SAP S/4HANA.
- Strong experience with CDS Views, associations, and annotations.
- Hands-on experience with OData services.
- Experience with RAP behavior definitions, behavior implementations, service definitions, and service bindings.
- Good knowledge of ABAP Objects, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Experience with ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse.
- Understanding of SAP transports, testing, and deployment processes.
- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAP Fiori elements and SAPUI5.
- Knowledge of SAP BTP and cloud application development.
- Experience with RAP draft handling and EML.
- Exposure to SAP Integration Suite and external API integrations.
- Understanding of Clean Core principles and modern SAP development practices.

We are looking for someone with strong hands-on technical skills who can take ownership of RAP development tasks, solve technical problems, and work well with different teams. Candidates should be able to explain their actual contribution to a RAP implementation, from development and testing through deployment.
