About this role
About the Role Join ALS's Sample Preparation team at the Geochemistry site in Wangara. You will prepare samples for laboratory analysis and operate equipment to crush, split, and pulverize mineral samples for testing. The role is physically demanding and in a dusty environment, with mandatory respiratory protection and a requirement to be clean-shaven.
What You'll Do
- Operate sample preparation equipment per procedures
- Sort and log received samples; apply barcode labels; record weights in interface
- Transfer scanned samples to drying racks; crush, riffle, split, sieve samples; dry at specified temperatures
- Operate pulverising mills; inform supervisor of issues; maintain machinery; keep work areas clean
- Work on rotating full-time roster (fortnightly): 2 weeks day, 2 weeks night, 2 weeks afternoon
- Embrace multi-skilling opportunities toward more complex roles
What We're Looking For
- Available for full-time hours and rotating rosters
- Ability to follow procedures with excellent attention to detail
- Reliable, physically fit; capable of repetitive manual handling; team player
- Comfortable in a dusty environment; ability to wear half-face respirator and maintain proper seal (clean-shaven)
- Prior production experience is advantageous

- Previous production experience and flexibility with availability
- Interest in progression to administration, supervisory, or laboratory roles
