Sample Preparer

About the Role ALS is seeking a dedicated Sample Preparer to support chemical analysis by preparing and handling samples in our laboratory in Kokshetau, Kazakhstan. You will follow internal procedures and customer specifications to ensure accurate sample preparation, labeling, and ready-to-analyze materials.

What You'll Do

• Prepare samples for chemical analysis by crushing and grinding various ores and materials using crushers, grinders, and crushing/sorting equipment, and perform other probe sample preparation tasks such as acceptance, sorting, weighing, identification, labeling and packaging for dispatch or return, while strictly following internal procedures and customer specifications.
• Adhere to procedural and methodological requirements, including sample weighing, labeling, timely record-keeping in journals and forms used on site.
• Follow approved production plans and performance indicators for equipment, raw materials, materials, tools and energy.
• Ensure proper operation of laboratory equipment, prevent damage, detect faults and address malfunctions.
• Inform foreman, senior crusher operator, and head of sample preparation about any deviations, accidents, emergencies on site.
• Take measures to halt work if health or safety risks arise and report immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and order at the workstation and the sample preparation area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the site supervisor/ head of sample preparation.

• Ability to perform sample preparation tasks in a laboratory setting and follow documented procedures.
• Capacity to work according to production plans and to maintain accurate records and logs.
• Basic understanding of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance; ability to identify and report faults.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to halt work to prevent health hazards; prompt reporting of incidents.
• Good communication and teamwork; willingness to work on-site in Kokshetau, Kazakhstan, and follow internal regulations.
• Basic organizational skills and attention to cleanliness and order.
