Job Purpose
- The Sales Representative will drive the sales and market development of juvenile fish and fingerlings by identifying new customers, developing relationships with fish farmers and distributors, managing existing accounts, and achieving assigned sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell juvenile fish and fingerlings to fish farmers, distributors, and other aquaculture businesses.
- Identify and develop new customers and market opportunities within assigned territories.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and drive repeat sales.
- Conduct regular visits to fish farms and prospective customers.
- Manage customer enquiries, orders, quotations, payments, and delivery follow-ups.
- Achieve agreed sales volumes and revenue targets.
- Provide customers with basic guidance on the appropriate handling, transportation, and stocking of juvenile fish and fingerlings.
- Monitor market prices, competitor activities, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
- Coordinate with the hatchery, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely fulfilment of customer orders.
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure prompt follow-up.
- Maintain accurate records of customers, sales activities, orders, and market feedback.
- Prepare regular sales and territory performance reports for management.
Requirements
- B.Sc./HND in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Animal Science, Agriculture, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–4 years’ experience in sales, preferably in aquaculture, fisheries, agriculture, or animal production.
- Existing relationships with fish farmers and aquaculture businesses will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of fish farming and the aquaculture market.
- Strong sales, negotiation, communication, and customer relationship skills.
- Target-driven, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and extensively in the field.
- Willingness to travel within assigned territories.
