About this role

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sales Manager

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Reporting To: CEO

Job Summary

  • We have been exclusively retained by our client, a leading construction organisation headquartered in Lekki, Lagos, with a strategic presence across Nigeria, to recruit an experienced Sales Manager for its Nigerian operations.

Main Responsibilities

Market Development:

  • Achieve the annual contract value target set by the Company; break it down by month and by individual salesperson, and drive progress accordingly.
  • Proactively develop new customers through industry referrals, referrals from existing clients, local chamber of commerce events and market visits - adding at least 3 new qualified customers each month.
  • Establish and maintain a customer ledger recording customer needs, follow-up progress and quotations; visit key customers on site at least once a month.
  • Handle business negotiation, quotation and contract term discussions, and follow prospective customers through to contract signing and implementation.
  • Track competitor activity and market prices, report back to the Company promptly, and adjust quotations and sales strategies accordingly.

Ensuring Payment Collection:

  • Assess the customer's payment capacity and creditworthiness before signing; customers with poor or unprotected payment terms must be submitted to the Company for approval before being taken on.
  • Collect payments proactively according to the contractual payment schedule: remind the customer 7 days before each payment falls due, and follow up daily once it is overdue.
  • Submit the accounts receivable ledger monthly, detailing for each outstanding item the amount owed, its aging, collection progress and next steps.
  • Contract value and payment collection are weighted equally in performance assessment - a signed contract from which payment is never collected does not count as performance.

Daily Management and Other Duties:

  • Manage sales staff scheduling and attendance, and hold a weekly regular meeting.
  • Report weekly on sales progress, outstanding payments and the plan for the following week.
  • Maintain ledgers for customers, projects and contracts so that records are available for reference at any time.

Job Requirements

  • College Degree or above; major is not restricted, with preference given to marketing, international trade or building materials.
  • At least 8 years of sales experience; overseas work experience or team management experience is preferred.
  • Hard-working and willing to visit customers in the field; able to accept long-term assignment in Nigeria and hold a valid passport.
  • Proficient with common office software; able to write brief reports and prepare sales statistics sheets.

Application Closing Date

30th October, 2026.
